Botox®, Dysport® & Dermal Fillers in Jacksonville
Botulinum toxin products such as Botox® and Dysport® are FDA-approved as safe and effective methods of eliminating wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles. While there are some lifestyle changes which can help reduce the wrinkles associated with aging such as sun exposure, poor skin care, and smoking, only botulinum toxin can stop the activity of the underlying muscles. With consistent use, Botox and Dysport can actually prevent new deep wrinkles and can help you avoid the “etched-in” lines that can become visible at all times.
Our goal at Intracoastal Dermatology is to provide patients with a refreshed, younger, and natural look with minimal discomfort, bruising, and swelling. Our expert Botox injectors can often preserve facial expressions while softening the appearance of wrinkles. A key component to creating the best possible results with Dysport and Botox therapy is to carefully map patient facial muscles and eliminate movement selectively in some muscles, while relaxing movement and muscle tone in others, thereby creating a natural appearance.
Will There Be Downtime?
Patients typically return to normal activity, including work, on the same day following an injection. The effects of Botox start to become apparent in five to seven days after the session, and a follow-up visit is typically scheduled two weeks after the initial injection. When indicated, a touch-up can be given at the time to refine the final appearance.
How Long Does Botox and Dysport Last?
Treatments with Botox and Dysport usually last about three months, and as patients continue their treatments, the treatment interval between treatments can sometimes increase.

More info about Botox and Dysport
Botox has been in use for clinical purposes for over twenty years, and it has proven to be an extremely safe product for both cosmetic and medical purposes. Botox is the commercial name of botulinum toxin produced by Allergan. Dysport is the commercial name of botulinum toxin produced by Galderma. Botox and Dysport are not substitutes for surgical procedures such as facelifts, browlifts or eyelid surgery. In fact, the use of Botox® as an adjunctive procedure following these surgical procedures will typically help enhance a patient’s appearance.
